What's new in Wooclap in october: a new way to read your polls, a cleaner screen, and attendance checks at any point in your session
02.10.2026 • 4 minutes

This is the second edition of our monthly series where we highlight the latest updates to our active learning platform and how they add value to your experience.
This month is mostly about what happens live, during your sessions. There's a new way to read your poll and MCQ results, a faster way to decide what stays on screen during Open Questions and Word Clouds, and attendance you can now check at any point in the session, not just when participants join.
Donut chart view for Polls and MCQs
Polls and MCQs now come with a new answers view: the donut chart. It shows answers as a labelled ring, with the percentage for each option and the total number of answers in the centre.

Why it matters: the donut chart doesn't replace the views you already use. It adds another way to read the same results, one that works especially well on a shared screen. Because the ring always represents the whole group, the way your audience is split is readable at a glance, for you and for everyone in the room. The total number of responses, shown alongside, tells you whether enough people have answered before you move on.
That shared, at-a-glance picture is also a good starting point for discussion. Instead of focusing only on the most popular answer, you can bring the whole split into the conversation: ‘a third of you went for B, let's hear why.’ It's an easy way to get learners comparing their reasoning with each other's, which is often where the real learning happens.
Open Question moderation
Moderation isn't new to Open Questions and Word Clouds, but we've changed how it works. Until now, answers were held back until you approved them one by one in the moderator panel. That approach slowed the activity down, and reviewing answers often happened in front of the audience anyway.
The new moderation takes the opposite approach. Every answer appears on screen as it comes in, and you can set aside any one of them in a click the moment it shows up. Answers you set aside move to a dedicated panel, and you can bring any of them back in one click.

Why it matters: participation stays open and immediate, which is what makes open questions and word clouds lively in the first place. With a large or anonymous audience, you still have a quick way to clear off-topic, duplicate or inappropriate answers without breaking the flow. And since nothing is deleted, the panel doubles as a record of what you've set aside.

Attendance Check
Wooclap's Attendance sheet already recorded who signed in when joining your event. Attendance Check goes further: you can now check who is still following the session, at the moments you choose.
At each check, a code appears on screen and participants enter it on their device. Add as many checks as you need, planned in advance or added live. After the session, the Attendance sheet shows who checked in and when, and you can correct it if needed.
For LMS-connected courses, Wooclap also uses the course's class list to show who was missing, and you can limit access to enrolled students only.

Why it matters: signing in when you join isn't the same as being there throughout. Checks tied to a code shown on screen confirm that participants are actually following the session, at the points you choose, without a roll call or a paper sheet. For LMS-connected courses, it goes further. Attendance reflects actual enrollment rather than whoever happened to sign in, and your session stays with your class, with no outside participants joining through a shared link..
